my music is about listening

β€”to myself, to others, and to the hidden frequencies that shape our lives. When the harp touches my body, I touch something deeper. When the strings move, I am moved to sing. To sing songs hiding just below the surface, songs that had to be felt before they could be sung.

Each show is a unique dance between my written material and moments of inspired listening. I regard every song as an evolving truth, using live tapestries of voice, percussion, loops and soundscapes to express the soul of each song as it wishes to be heard in that particular moment.

I show up not to perform, but to be presentβ€”to share, to listen, to offer songs as invitations to connect with the deepest parts of ourselves and each other.

Short Bio:

Elizabeth Owens (she/they) is a harpist/multi-instrumentalist and songwriter whose music feels like stepping into a dreamβ€”one where folk and classical roots twist into tendrils of art rock, jazz, Latin, and experimental pop. Performing with harp, percussion, and a voice as gentle as it is unflinching, their music isn’t about breaking genresβ€”it’s about dissolving borders, guiding listeners into a space where sound becomes a mirror for what it means to be human.

Long Bio:

(Eli)zabeth Owens is an avant-garde music producer, harpist, multimedia artist and educator based in Richmond, VA. After graduating college with dual degrees in Photo/Film and Psychology in 2015, they rekindled their passion for music and has devoted the last several years to crafting spiritual experiences through the alchemy of music, experimental video and interactive digital art.

In 2019, Eli was gifted a small 22-string Celtic harp. With their experience in piano, guitar, and voice they were able to teach themselves how to play and from the moment that first chord spilled out, Elizabeth was under it's spell.

Combined with their love of experimental time-based media and background in atmospheric sound design, Owens’ multi-instrumental, mutli-media approach is a genre bending, communal, contemplative experience. Through their vulnerability and expression, the stage becomes a shared practice space inviting the audience to participate in the deep listening, feeling, and expressing the art calls for.

Influences include Holly Herndon, Kate Bush, FKA Twigs, Bjork, Joanna Newsom, and Caroline Polacheck.
